Hyo Joo Kim maintains her lead with a three-under 68 in the second round of the Ascendant LGPA as Lexi Thompson makes a move on Oct 5, 2023. Kim is the 7th ranked South Korean golfer in the world moving to 10-under 132 through two rounds. She will head into the weekend with a two-stroke lead over Sofia Garcia. Garcia is a former Texas Tech player from Paraguay. She had four birdies and a bogey in a 68.

Lexi Thompson, a US golfer jumped into a tie for third at six under with France’s golfer Celine Boutier. Thompson shot the low round of 65 to reach six while Boutier shot at 67.

Then Kim opened her round at Old American Golf Club on the back nine using a string of seven pars. She had four birdies and a bogey to reach ten-under 132. She succeeded in broking the birdies at numbers 17, 18, and I before adding bogey and birdie all the way along.

Kim said, “My shots were better than yesterday, but unfortunately the score wasn’t as good, But I did hit the green a lot more, so I’m satisfied with that.”

Kim is a five-time LGPA winner and she is trying to end a victory drought. She has two runner-up finishes and six other top 10s this season without winning.
