Trees downed and trains canceled as Sydney hit by wild storm
Sydney has been hit by a wild storm that downed trees and trains were canceled on Oct 16, 2023 today. Sydney experienced a storm of 82km/h at 3.10 pm followed by heavy rain.
The violent winds linked with a low-pressure system in the Tasman Sea are extending a cold front along New South Wales (NSW) in the Australian state.
Trains canceled today due to drowned trees by a severe storm at the tracks of Guildford. It is between the T2 Inner West & Leppington Line and the T5 Cumberland Line.

Buses are replacing trains between Blacktown and Penrith on the T1 Western Line and the Blue Mountains Line due to a tree near the tracks at St Marys. There were dozens of passengers seen in a crowded line at the Blacktown station.
Sydney trains advised the passengers to either delay their trips or allow plenty of extra time. Forecasters have issued a warning ahead of the wild stormy weather. The Bureau of Meteorology earlier warned of damaging violent winds up to 90km/h for the Blue Mountains, Sydney, and parts of the Illawarra, Hunter, and Mid-North Coast.
Eastern Victoria and the NSW coast with Gabo Island also experienced a windy storm of 70km/h speed on Monday morning.
Weatherzone said that wind wave heights could reach five meters off the central coast of NSW on Tuesday morning. They issued a warning to the people of Sydney as trees were downed and trains canceled as Sydney was hit by a wild storm.
