Mossad allegedly hired two Iranian agents to assassinate Ismail Haniyeh
Elite Israeli Intelligence agency Mossad allegedly hired two Iranian security agents to plant explosives in the room of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. The suspected agents were probably from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
UK-based newspaper “The Telegraph” has claimed this in its published report. Telegraph revealed that Mossad allegedly bribed Iranian security officers to put explosives in rooms. The deceased Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was staying in one of those rooms.
According to the Telegraph, the initial plan of hired agents involved killing Ismail when he attended the funeral ceremony of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in May 2024.
Telehgraph made these claims while citing two Iranian officials who reportedly revealed this information to media newspaper.
The Iranian officials informed them that Iranian agents did not carry out the initial plan to assassinate Ismail because of the high risk of failure and massive crowds in the building where Ismail was present.
Regarding the recent successful assassination of Ismail, two Iranian security agents planted explosive devices in three rooms of the guesthouse where the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) usually stays.
According to Iranian officials, they have CCTV footage of the guesthouse building where agents appeared to move silently. They came and went from multiple rooms in a matter of minutes.
Hence, two Iranian agents hired by Mossad successfully planted explosives. It resulted in the murder of Ismail Haniyeh. He arrived in Iran to join the inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of Iran.

However, suspected Iranian agents have escaped the country after the assassination attempt. But they kept contact with a close source in Iran.
Senior Iranian officials also expressed doubt that they are not certain that Mossad hired agents from the Ansar al-Mahdi protection unit. It is an IRGC unit that is responsible for protecting high-ranking officials in the country.
It is significant to note that Iran has arrested dozens of senior intelligence officers, military officers, and staff workers. They were also present at the guesthouse in Tehran where Ismail was staying.
