Hamas leader died in Israeli custody, allegedly tortured & starved to death

Hamas leader Mustafa Muhammad Abu Ara died in Israeli custody and was allegedly tortured and starved to death. He was one of the top leaders of Hamas in the Tubas Governorate and the founder of Hamas in the West Bank.

Mustafa was 63 years old and reportedly passed away due to a decline in his health. The Palestinian Commission of Detainees Affairs released a statement about the death of Mustafa in Israeli detention.

It stated Mustafa Muhammad Abu Ara died following his transfer from Ramon jail in southern Israel to a hospital. According to the Commission, Mustafa required close medical monitoring before his arrest due to severe health issues.

However, he has been the victim of unusual crimes like other prisoners, Sheikh Abu Ara from the start of the genocidal war at the moment of his arrest.

The Palestinian body claimed that Mustafa was arrested in October 2023 and suffered torture, abuse, and no access to medical care.

Ultimately, top Hamas leader Mustafa Muhammad Ara died in Israeli custody after suffering nine months of torture and inhumane treatment. However, Israel avoided commenting immediately on his death.

Moreover, the report of the Palestinian Prisoners Association stated that at least 18 Palestinians have lost their lives while arrested by Israel since the Gaza war began on October 7.

Israeli figures show that 1,200 people died and more than 250 Israelis were held hostage by Hamas. There are reportedly about 120 hostages in custody of Hamas. However, Israel believes that about one-third of them have died.

According to Gaza’s health authorities, the war conflict between Hamas and Israel has resulted in widespread devastation in the region.

It has caused an unimagined humanitarian crisis that killed 39,000 Palestinians. It forced the majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents to leave their homes.
