BJP issued notice to Dilip Ghosh for father taunt on CM Mamata

JP Nadda, president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued notice to Bengal BJP leader Dilip Ghosh for his controversial remarks on CM Mamata Banerjee. Mamata is the chief minister of West Bengal and belongs to Trinamool Congress Party.

The BJP has issued notice while writing a letter to Dilip Ghosh noting that his comments were vulgar, unparliamentary, and against party traditions.

In response to the notice, Dilip informed media reporters that this was not the first time he had faced criticism for his statement. He stated this happens because he speaks in front of those who commit injustice.

Dilip also said many people, including the party, claimed he used unparliamentary language. If that is the case, he is sorry. He will respond to the notice in an official manner.

The Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) had earlier filed a complaint against Dilip Ghosh to the Election Commission (ECI) for allegedly making insulting remarks about Mamata Banerjee. The TMC said Dilip broke the Model Code of Conduct by making personal statements about Mamata.

It all came when Dilip passed remarks about Mamata while talking to reporters in Durgapur. He stated whenever Mamata Banerjee visits Goa, she refers to herself as the daughter of Goa. When she goes to Tripura, she claims to be the daughter of Tripura. She should first identify her father.

Following these remarks, TMC urged ECI to take action against Dilip Ghosh immediately. It cited a clause in the elections code. It states no political party or candidate should engage in any activities or make any statements that would regard an attack on the personal life of any politician.

This code also prevents politicians from passing any statements that may be malicious or offend decency and morality. TMC wrote in a complaint to ECI that remarks of Dilip not only violate the norms of decency. But it also creates a culture of misogyny and disrespect for women in positions of power.
