Badlapur School Case: Sweeper sexually abused two KG class girls
Violent protests broke out in the aftermath of the Badlapur School case where a sweeper sexually abused two little KG class girls. The protests against the alleged sexual assault of two girls at school in Thane district of Badlapur, Maharashtra turned violent.
According to authorities, protestors stoned the local railway station and damaged the relevant school named Adarsh Vidya Mandir. Many passengers experienced inconvenience as a result of violent protests disrupting train services.
Two KG class girls aged three and four years were sexually molested by a house cleaning staff member at an English medium school in Thane. However, the relevant school has suspended its principal and two employees over allegations of sexual assault against two young girls.
This action came in response to parent’s protests when they blocked the Badlapur railway station. They demanded harsh punishment for people involved in a condemnable incident.
The victim girl’s parents along with other local residents gathered at Badlapur railway station at around 8 a.m. They blocked train services to impose their demands on the school administration. Hence, it resulted in massive disruption in the trains’ movement on routes.
They claimed to approach the police station to register a complaint. However, they did not file a case which resulted in violent protests. Afterward, Badlapur police filed an FIR against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act following the complaint of the girl’s parents.
The parents revealed that the girls informed them sweeper touched them inappropriately. The police eventually arrested the suspect. Moreover, Badlapur school management announced the suspension of a female attendant, class teacher, and principal for their responsibility in the sexual assault case.
The school management also issued an apology. They claimed to ban the offending housecleaning firm whose staff member sexually molested girls. It also emphasized that they will increase monitoring of school premises to prevent any inevitable incident from happening again.
