American actress and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon has dropped from the film project after making a scandalous anti-Jewish rant. The career of Susan’s has suffered a major blow after the decision of the production company not to work with her.

Page Six reports that David Barroso said PTO Films wishes to state clearly that Susan’s views do not reflect the opinions of their organization. David is the co-founder of the indie film production company.

What did the production company say about Susan’s dismissal?

David said we were considering Susan for a short film. But after hearing her recent comments, we decided to consider other options. He asserts that while they had Susan in mind for a role in their film. But no formal negotiations with her took place.

Susan had to participate in the short film “Slipping Away” of PTO Films. According to IMBD, Slipping Away is a thriller about a schizophrenic man who struggles with his psychosis and his wife’s extramarital affair.

According to a 2018 British news article, the famed actress Susan was to play the role of Dr.Sylvia Mansfield in Slipping Away. This film was on the list under “pre-production” in her upcoming projects category. But it has now been removed from the list.

Media reached out to Susan’s manager for comment on this matter but did not receive a response. This latest dismissal of Susan comes just two weeks after UTA chose to fire her following her provocative statement. UTA refers to United Agency Talent and represents the world’s best artists, storytellers, entertainers, and brands.

Susan remarked on November 17, 2023, at a pro-Palestinian rally in New York City. She said Jews were getting a taste of what it is like to be Muslim in this country. So they are often subjected to violence as a result of the global rise in antisemitic crimes caused by the Israel-Hamas war. These remarks have caused Susan’s dismissal from different positions.
