Actor and comedian Vir Das has taken his stance in favor of Deepika. He reacted to the internet meltdown over the actress’s comments.

Vir did a tweet to his X (formerly Twitter) account defending Deepika. He tweeted a moment of silence for all men who are upset that a Bollywood star way out of their league was casually dating for a while. And she was not as committed as their imaginary girlfriend is to them.

Afterward, Vir Das’s tweet in favor of Deepika attracted widespread criticism from many Indian netizens. One of them is Bharat Arya who criticized Vir calling him a flop Bollywood actor who is defending every star for getting a side role in the next big movie which is otherwise out of the league for him.

Netizens troll Deepika Padukone’s comment in Koffee with Karan

Furthermore, Deepika said in the episode that she wanted to be single for a while because she had come from difficult relationships. She was going through a phase where she did not want to be attached or committed.

She also expressed that she enjoyed her time. However, when Ranveer entered her life and proposed to her, the true commitment began. There may not have been an official commitment in the early stages, and technically, they were both free to explore other relationships. Nevertheless, they found themselves continually drawn back to each other.
