Court ordered counseling for Jonathan Majors for girlfriend assault

Lower Manhattan Court ordered a year-long counseling program for Marvel star Jonathan Majors in case of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The court found him guilty of hitting his ex-girlfriend but did not face a jail sentence for this offense.

There were claims that this well-known case would ruin the career of Jonathan. He risked a year in prison when the court found him guilty of assault in December 2023.

Instead of facing imprisonment, the Manhattan court has ordered a counseling program for Jonathan Majors. Judge Michael Gaffey gave Jonathan a conditional release noting both parties had agreed that the actor was a first-time offender with no prior criminal record. Hence, he did not deserve a jail sentence.

Jonathan resides in Los Angeles and a court order requires him to finish a 52-week in-person assault interventional program there. He must also keep going to the mental health counseling that his lawyers claim he has been attending.

However, Jonathan faces a year in prison if he breaks the rules. In addition, the court has also stopped him from communicating with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Earlier, a tearful Grace told the court that Jonathan refuses to accept his guilt and he still poses a threat to anyone around him. She said he does not apologize. Jonathan has not taken ownership of his actions. He is going to hurt other women and do this again. He thinks he is immune to the law.

Furthermore, she stated Jonathan had deceived her into thinking they were in a romantic connection, when, in fact, he had cut her from friends and family. He shut her off from the outside matter.

She remarked in court she was so emotionally dependent on him. She became small, scared, and vulnerable being around him. Meanwhile, Jonathan stayed quiet on this to the media.

On the other hand, Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galloway argued in court, that Jonathan has not taken responsibility for his acts. But he has instead been publicly critical of the court procedures, launching a PR campaign that included a national television appearance in support of Jonathan receiving a sentence of violence counseling.
