Israel strike Lebanon after its soldiers died & injured in Hezbollah attack
Israel launched a strike in Lebanon after Hezbollah killed one of its Navy officers David Moshe Ben Shitri and two others injured in the fatal attack. David Moshe, a 21-year-old, and two others fell victim in the aftermath of Hezbollah’s attack.
An Israeli defense missile accidentally hit their patrol boat to counter rocket fires by Hezbollah in northern Israel. Since then, the deadliest strikes have been intense between Israel and Hezbollah.
This fatal conflict started after Hezbollah reportedly launched more than 320 rockets at 11 Israeli sites on August 25, 2024. Hezbollah called it the first phase of retaliatory attacks in the aftermath of the death of its top senior commander Fuad Shukr by Israel last month.
Following this, Israel has also reportedly launched a massive aerial strike at Hezbollah sites in Lebanon. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed its 100 fighter jets hit and destroyed thousands of rocket launcher barrels of Hezbollah.
Israel said it launched these strikes in self-defense after it identified Hezbollah was preparing to fire rockets and missiles toward its territory. It called the Hezbollah attack “baseless.”
IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated they removed a massive threat by targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon. As a result, two people died in Israeli strikes on the village of At Tiri in Nabatiyeh southern Lebanon.
However, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said its organization’s attack in Israel was successfully conducted. But it will carry out further strikes against Israel.
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed the Israeli military intervened and stopped Hezbollah drones successfully from causing significant damage. Although he did not clarify what their target was.
He also emphasized that what happened in Israel after the Hezbollah attacks was not the end. He said Nasrullah and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei should know Israel will take another step to change the situation. It will openly retaliate against them after safely evacuating its citizens.
It is significant to note that violent strikes between Israel and Hezbollah have risen since the October 7 Gaza war outbreak. Hezbollah is an ally of the Palestinian militant organization Hamas supporting it against Israel.
