Indian man committed crime to prove himself alive after declared dead
An Indian man Babauram Bhil committed a crime to prove himself alive after the government declared him dead officially. This surprising criminal story originated when the Indian government declared Baburam “dead” in official documents.
Even if it seems dramatic, the state of Rajasthan in northern India experienced this. Despite being alive, Baburam from Mithora village in the Balotra district reportedly had a death certificate made for him.
He tried everything to have the mistake of declaring him dead fixed, but it went in vain. Hence, it was his need to attract the attention of authorities. It gave him the idea of becoming a criminal.
Following this idea, he chose to terrorize a nearby school on July 9, 2024, using a fuel bottle and a knife. He attacked a parent and stabbed two teachers upon entering the Chuli Bera Dharana School.
A police statement claims that the man also kidnapped several teachers and students. Teacher Suresh Kumar and acting headmaster Hardayal both suffered critical injuries in the attack.
After this incident, residents called the police. When police arrived, they took Baburam into custody. Meanwhile, they also shifted injured people to a hospital in Jodhpur for treatment.
However, Indian man Baburam revealed shocking details that he committed this crime at school to prove himself alive. He claimed that the government issued his death certificate and he was afraid that it would seize his property.
Hence, he committed a crime to provide evidence of his existence by getting registered in the arrest list recorded in police files. On the other hand, police are still investigating his claims.
It is significant to note that incidents of this kind are not unusual in India. A 70-year-old man Dinanth Yadav appeared to wander in the streets of Agra while holding a placard with the phrase “I am alive.” It happened when the Indian government issued his death certificate.
