Sheikh Rasheed Laal Haveli sealed
Sheikh Rasheed’s Laal Haveli sealed, and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) locked up Lal Haveli, the place where Sheikh Rasheed, a former interior minister, lives. The ETPB team, along with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and police, arrived at Sheikh Rashhed’s place to lock it.
ETPB Deputy Administrator Asif Khan led this operation. He stated that “Sheikh Rasheed and his brother, Sheikh Siddique, possess seven acres of Lal Haveli, which they are not entitle to”. He emphasized that Lal Haveli is the property of ETPB.

On the other hand, Sheikh Rasheed Laal Haveli’s seal didn’t sit well with him. He criticized the ETPB for sealing the property and asked the LHC (Lahore High Court) to take some action on this matter.
Before the incident, the ETPB had already planned on January 26 to get Sheikh Rasheed out of Lal Haveli within 24 hours.
At the time of partition, Lal Haveli belonged to a Hindu lady. After Sheikh Rasheed started doing Politics in Parliament, it turned into his political office in 1980. Sheikh Rashid was unable to provide any documents related to the Lal Haveli. The official judgment highlights that political pressure had caused a 27-year delay in this case.
