Mohammad Wasim claimed Imad Wasim is hiding his knee injury
Former Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim claimed all-rounder Imad Wasim is allegedly hiding his knee injury. Imad Wasim recently changed his decision to retire from International cricket and PCB picked him for the T-20 Men’s International Cricket tournament.
After a standout season in the Pakistan Super League, Imad stated in November 2023 that he was retiring from International cricket. However, he changed his mind in March 2024.
PCB selected him for Pakistan’s Twenty 20 International series against New Zealand a month later. He also became part of the team for England, Ireland, and the T20 World Cup.
He missed Pakistan’s first World Cup match against the USA and their last Twenty20 International match against England for “precautionary measures” because of a suspected rib injury. The PCB described his injury as discomfort in his right rib cage.
Following this, Mohammad Wasim said Imad lied about his knee injury. He claimed it during the Samaa TV program ‘Zor ka Jor’ after Pakistan lost to the USA in the T-20 World Cup 2024.
According to Wasim, Imad didn’t appear to be in good form during the T20 World Cup matchup with India. Despite bowling well during the match, the all-rounder seemed exhausted as he hardly moved his feet when trying to hit a shot.

Mohammad Wasim claimed that Imad Wasim is allegedly hiding his chronic knee injury by covering it as a rib issue. He said Imad wasn’t playing for the nation but rather for financial gain and to hide an injury.
According to Wasim, Imad appeared to be in poor physical condition since he was having trouble jogging. The all-rounder seemed to be recovering from an injury. It made it difficult for him to hit the ball. He even ceased running several times.
There were also rumors in Pakistani media before the Pak vs USA match that Imad Wasim wasn’t fully fit. However, the team management is eager to use him. According to the sources, the all-rounder would receive injections and medicines to play in the match.
