Rafael Nadal returns to tennis after being out for a year
Former world number one tennis player Rafael Nadal returns to competitive tennis at the Brisbane International after being out for almost a year with an injury.
The 37-year-old Rafael has been out since injured his hip flexor in a second-round loss at the Australian Open on January 18, 2023. He previously stated that he intended to retire at the end of the 2024 season.
But now the tennis giant Rafael has remarked in a social media video that it’s time to come back after a year away from the competition. He said it will take place in Brisbane during the first week of January 2024. He hopes to see his fans there.
The Brisbane International will help Rafael’s preparation for the Australian Open 2024. It is the major opening of the year. He won the Australian Open in 2009 and 2022.
He has been out since losing to Mackenzie McDonald in Melbourne at an Australian Open in 2023 and underwent surgery in June 2023.
Rafael announced in May that he would skip the French Open for the first time in 19 years. It is the tournament where he has won 14 of his major titles. He stated that 2024 will probably be his final year.
Rafael Nadal Parera is a professional tennis player from Spain who has an extraordinary astonishing career. He has won 22 Grand Slam men’s singles titles. Association of Tennis Professionals ranked him the number one ranked tennis player in the world for 209 weeks. He has a record of winning 14 French Open titles and 92 ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) singles.
