Novak Djokovic returned to Indian Wells 2024 after 5-years break
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has returned to the BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells 2024 tournament. Novak stated he was looking forward to returning to Indian Wells to compete in the Indian Wells for the first time since 2019.
Novak Djokovic returned to Indian Wells after a break of five years. He could not participate in Indian Wells due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel. Novak aims for a historic sixth championship at the ATP Masters 1000, which begins next week. Indian Wells is part of the ATP Masters 1000. It is one of the largest tennis competitions outside the four Grand Slams.
Novak stated it has been five years (way too long) of not being a part of the Tennis Paradise tournament. It is one of the best tournaments in the world without a doubt. He expressed his excitement for Indian Wells in a video from a small, gorgeous town in the Southern California desert.
Furthermore, Novak stated it is the favorite Masters tournament for many players, including him. He can’t wait to compete again in front of some of the best tennis fans on the tour.

Novak Djokovic is the number one tennis player in the world. He won the first of his 24 Grand Slams at the Australian Open in 2008. Later, he won his first Indian Wells title after a few months in the same year.
He remarked the first time he won the title in Indian Wells in 2008, it was one of the highlights of his career at the moment. He remembers playing Mardy Fish (a rival American tennis player) in the finals.
Furthermore, he said he was lucky to win the tournament four more times and play fantastic matches against Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, and many other great players from that era. Hence, he is surely looking forward to returning.
