Jannik Sinner ends Novak Djokovic’s winning streak at ATP finals
Home favorite Jannik Sinner finally ends Novak Djokovic’s 19-match winning streak at the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) 2023 finals.
Italian tennis player Jannik excited the rowdy home crowd by defeating top-ranked Novak Djokovic as the match took place in Turin, Italy.

Jannik won the third set match series 7-5, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2) in a contest against Novak that lasted over three hours on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
Jannik is a 22-year-old player who became victorious for the first time in four confrontations at the ATP tournament in 2023. It also brought a stop to a consecutive successful series of giant tennis player Novak. He clinched the victory with a smash at the net sending the Turin arena into a state of excitement.

Jannik during his on-court interview said there is no better place to defeat the World No.1 after Wimbledon as he felt a little closer but he didn’t even win a set. Excited fans interrupted his media talk by chanting his name loudly.
He added I was able to play the most key points in the greatest possible way. There was some stress when he lost the second set. It was difficult but we (Jannik and the audience) won together.
The 36-year-old Novak who is generally a major favorite in Italy pushed fans to be even more hostile toward him this time. Several times during the thrilling match, the umpire had to instruct the fans to remain quiet as they enthusiastically cheered on the Italian player and blasted Djokovic.
Jannik is now on the verge of reaching the semifinals on Saturday, November 18, 2023, where he will face his next opponent Holger Rune. Holger Rune is a Danish player with an 8th ranking while Jannik has a fourth rank in ATP 2023 tournament.
