Jannik Sinner beat Frances Tiafoe to win the Cincinnati Open 2024
World number one Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner beat Frances Tiafoe to win the title Cincinnati Open 2024. Frances is a tenth-ranked American tennis player.
Jannik acknowledged that he was exhausted following a tough competition throughout the week. However, he still beat his rival Frances in the final with an incredible victory. He said it was a really challenging and rough week. But he is happy about the final match.
Jannik said it has been too difficult mentally for him. He tried to give it all today. So, he had such an incredible run here. He and Frances were both very worn out from yesterday. Even though there was a lot of tension between them. He is happy with his today’s performance, particularly in crucial moments.
Jannik Sinner beat Frances Tiafoe by 7-6 (7/4), 6-2 to win his fifth championship for 2024 in Cincinnati despite his hip injury.
He struggled through difficult matches against Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals and Alexander Zverev in the semifinals to play versus Frances.
However, Frances reached the Cincinnati Open 2024 finals by defeating Holger Rune. Jannik threw striking hits that proved to be a decisive factor in the finals. His accuracy and forceful throws turned out too much for Frances to handle resulting in Italian’s victory.
Jannik is a 23-year-old player who became the youngest male winner of the tournament to win the Cincinnati Open title since Andy Murray in 2008. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranked him the first-ranked tennis player in the world.
He won fifteen titles in Singles Men in ATP tour including a Grand Slam Title at Australian Open 2024 and three Masters 1000 titles. He became runner-up in the ATP 2023 finals and led Italy to the Davis Cup crown for the first time since 1976.
