India claims to deport Zainab Abbas amidst World Cup 2023
India claims to deport Zainab Abbas, a well-known sports presenter amidst ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. She went to India for the Cricket World Cup 2023 coverage, has reportedly left India owing to safety concerns, and reached Dubai.
Zainab Abbas has been in legal trouble over her past social media posts which some Indian nationalists claim are “anti-Hindu tweets”. An Indian lawyer named Vineet Jindal filed a case against her making accusations of tweeting anti-Hindu tweets about nine years ago. He claims in his tweet that Zainab has deported by the Indian Government after he filed a complaint against her.

On the other hand, Zainab denies the allegations and claims she is being unjustly targeted. She was facing the backlash of Indian nationalists. They asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to deport her from India. At the same time, ICC has remained silent on the matter. ICC has also become part of controversy for selecting Zainab as the official presenter for the Cricket World Cup by Indians.
In the last tweet, Zainab being Pakistani shared more cultural similarities than differences and rivalry on the field but camaraderie off it in her last tweet.

The Friday Times claims that Zainab Abbas is in Dubai for two days and she left India over safety concerns. In contrast, Indian sources are claiming that the Indian Government deported Zainab Abbas. The spokesperson for ICC has confirmed that Abbas left the country.
The Indian lawyer has also demanded Abbas’s removal from the panel of presenters over her derogatory posts. There is confusion about whether Abbas left the country on her own or deported by India. ICC spokesperson confirmed she left India on her own accord due to personal reasons.
Zainab Abbas, born on February 14, 1988, is a Pakistani television host, sports presenter, commentator, and a former makeup artist.
