Carlos Alcaraz & Daniil Medvedev qualify for Miami Open quarter-finals
Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz and Russian player Daniil Medvedev qualify for the Miami Open 2024 quarter-finals. Carlos won the Miami Open quarter-finals for the third year consecutively, defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-3.
Carlos defeated Italy’s Lorenzo, 23 ranked tennis player in less than 90 minutes. He said after winning his ninth consecutive match, this is the best he has been feeling without a doubt. However, he suffered an ankle injury earlier in the tournament.
He also said he was feeling terrific on the court, moving well, and there had been no injuries since he is no longer concerned about his ankle. He will face 11th-ranked Grigor Dimitrov next. Grigor defeated Hubert Hurkacz of Poland 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(3).
Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev moved closer to claiming a championship for the first time in his tennis career. He defeated Germany’s Dominik Koepfer 7-6(5) 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
Daniil after winning his 350th career match said when you lose the first set the way he did, it reduces your (opponent’s) energy. He knew he had to exploit it (to his advantage) at the beginning of the second set, which was the most essential.
The next opponent of Daniil in the quarter-finals will be Chile’s, Nicolas Jarry. Nicolas is the 22nd-ranked tennis player. Nicolas defeated seventh-ranked Casper Ruud of Norway 7-6(3), 6-3.
In addition to Carlos Alcaraz, and Daniil Medvedev, Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner also qualify for the Miami Open 2024 quarter-finals. He won 6-4 6-3 against Australian tennis player Christopher O’Connell.
Carlos Alcaraz is the second-ranked tennis player in the world while Jannik Sinner is the third-ranked player. However, Daniil Medvedev is the fourth-ranked tennis player.
Carlos won thirteen ATP Tour-level singles titles, with two major titles at the 2022 US Open and the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. Jannik won 12 ATP singles titles, including a Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open. Daniil has won 20 ATP Tour singles titles, including the 2021 US Open and 2020 ATP Finals.
