Carlos Alcaraz beat Camilo Carabelli to reach Argentina Open 2024

Top Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz beat Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli to reach the quarterfinals of the Argentina Open 2024. It was the first clay-court match of Carlos Alcaraz in the Argentina Open 2024.

The match took place at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club in Argentina. Carlos Alcaraz beat Camilo Carabelli by two set matches 6-2 and 7-5.

Carlos Alcaraz easily won the first match series while Camillo kept his retaliatory attacks in check and broke serve early in the second series to take the lead with 2-0. However, Carlos faced a 2-0 deficit in the second set against Camilo, but he recovered the loss and secured a win.

Carlos said he started the match being highly nervous. He is not going to lie, but the crowd behind supported him. He thought it was normal. However, he is happy with his first match on a clay court (Argentina Open) since the French Open (another tennis tournament).

Carlos is a two-time Grand Slam title winner and World number 2 tennis player who defeated 134th-ranked Camilo Ugo Carabelli. However, the top-ranked tennis player in the world is Novak Djokovic from Serbia.

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has ranked Carlos as the number one tennis player for winning the men’s singles title. He has won twelve ATP Tour-level singles titles.

It includes two major grand slam titles and four Masters 1000 titles. He won two grand slam titles, including the US Open in 2022 as well as Wimbledon in 2023.

However, Carlos will next play Italian Andrea Vavassori, who defeated Serbian Laslo Djere by 6-4 and 7-5. Andrea Vavassori is ranked 152nd player in the tennis world.

Moreover, Carlos and British player Cameron Norrie are scheduled to compete at the Rio Open 2024 later this month. However, Cameron has an 8th ranking in singles and 117th in doubles.
