Australia whitewash Pakistan by 3-0 series for seventh time
Australia did whitewash Pakistan by a 3-0 series with an eight-wicket victory in Test cricket at its home Sydney. This is a winning record for Australia with its whitewash of Pakistan in seven test match series.
Australia has clean-swept Pakistan in seven test series of three or more matches, with six of those wins occurring in Australia since 1995. This is the most by any team against a single opponent. For example, England has clean-swept New Zealand five times and India four times. However, Australia has whitewashed England four times.
In the final third test series match between Australia and Pakistan, David Warner was the sixth Australian player to score 50 or more in a successful fourth-innings chase in their last Test. Before him, Jack Ryder achieved this in 1929 against England.
However, Aamer Jamal became the fourth Pakistani player to score 100 runs and take a five-wicket in a Test. The last to achieve this was Wasim Akram in 1990 against Australia.
Aamer took 18 wickets in the series in a remarkable performance. Only Fazl Mehmood against India took 20 wickets in 1952-52 and Nasim-ul-Ghani took 19 wickets against Australia in 1958 in their debut series for Pakistan.

The second-innings score of Pakistan at 115 is the lowest in Sydney for any team since South Africa’s 113 against Australia in 1998.
The Sydney Test witnessed 857 runs in total, the lowest in Tests with a result since 1998 when the Australia-South Africa Test ended with 821 runs.
On day three of the Sydney Test, 11 wickets fell in the third session. It is a rare occurrence in Australia for the first time in over 20 years that ten or more wickets fell in a session. Australia lost four wickets in 3.2 overs. However, Pakistan lost seven in 26 overs.
