Toba Tek Singh murder case: Young Maria killed by her father & brothers

A 22-year-old Maria was murdered by her brother Faisal in the presence of her father, Abdul Sattar in the Toba Tek Singh murder case. A third man and another brother of Maria, Shehbaz, and his wife filmed his brother Faisal strangling their sister to death.

However, Shehbaz and his wife did not interfere because they were threatened to stay away from this matter. In the latest development, police arrested Shehbaz and his wife on March 30, 2024, in connection with a murder case that enraged the country. Police have already arrested accused Faisal and Abdul Sattar.

At first, it seemed an honor killing case. However, the case was not simple as it seemed when Faisal confessed to raping Maria several times before killing her. He confessed it during police custody. Police suspect that the culprits murdered Maria after she became pregnant due to incest and rape by Faisal.

The tragic incident dates back to March 17, 2024, when Faisal brutally assassinated her sister overnight. A viral video made by Shehbaz appears to show Faisal strangling the girl on a bed while their father sat nearby.

In the video, Shehbaz appeared to suggest that his father tell Faisal to let go but he ignored him while Faisal strangled the unmoved body of Maria for more than two minutes. When Faisal finishes, his father offers him water to drink.

However, Ata Ullah, a police official in Toba Tek Singh told media they discovered the death of Maria was not natural on March 24, 2024. So, they filed a complaint and became complainants themselves in the Toba Tek Singh murder case.

Soon, they arrested Abdul Sattar and Faisal. However, they arrested Shehbaz and his wife for alleged involvement in Maria’s murder case last Saturday. DPO Ibadat Nasir revealed they also found Shehbaz’s involvement in the murder.

Ibadat stated that Shehbaz transported the dead body of Maria to the hospital and performed final rituals. However, he also informed all four suspects, Abdul Sattar, Faisal, Shehbaz, and his wife are going through an investigation process. They have sent their DNA samples for testing.

The true motive behind the murder has yet to be determined. All things will clear up with the results of the forensic report.

Meanwhile, the deceased elder sister, Kousar revealed shocking details. She informed authorities her brother told her Maria’s condition had worsened. When Kousar arrived home, she found Maria dead. She said Maria suffered brutal torture as blood was flowing from her nose.

Punjab Prosecutor General Farhad Ali Shah has declared the Maria murder case as a high-profile case. The NCHR also took notice of this case and has become a party to the case. NCHR refers to the National Commission of Human Rights. Meanwhile, NCHR Coordinator, Muhammad Khalid personally visited the incident place.
