SSP Rafat Bukhari won International award for best performance

Punjab Police Officer SSP Rafat Bukhari won the International Association of Women Police Police’s (IAWP) Excellence Award in Performance. She has raised the standard of Pakistani police by winning this award on the international level.

She won this prestigious award at the 61st annual IAWP conference. The award ceremony took place in Chicago, United States of America. SSP Rafat was honored for her exceptional achievements in women’s safety.

Apart from this, she also performed extraordinarily in artificial intelligence, intelligent traffic management, and the creation of road safety measures. Hence, all these factors contributed to her win for the IAWP award.

SSP Rafat received this award from IAWP President Deborah Friedl, who recognized her significant contribution to law enforcement. One female police officer worldwide receives this high honor award each year for exceptional community service.

Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Punjab Police (IG), congratulated SSP Rafat Bukhari for which she won an International award for her discriminatory services in the police line.

Apart from IG Punjab, Ahsan Younas, the Managing Director of the Safe Cities Authority also expressed excitement about her achievement on behalf of all police personnel, especially the female officers.

Earlier, Shahzadi Gulfam, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) became the first Pakistani woman officer to receive the prestigious award in 2011. She won the 2011 International Female Police Peacekeeper Award for her extraordinary police services.

United Nations Police Division in the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (UNPOL), Department of Peacekeeping Operations, and IAWP International Scholarship Committee selected Shahzadi for this award.

DSP Shahzadi became part of the Punjab police in March 1985. UNPOL stated she performed incredibly at both national and international levels.

Shahzadi served well while working with the Vulnerable Persons Unit in Dili during her appointment at UN Missions. She was part of the UN Mission in Kosovo in 1999 and Timor-Leste in 2007.
