Son of PTI Leader Syed Ibad Farooq passes away in Lahore on 18th September 2023. Ammar Farooq who was 8 years old boy died a tragic death as a result of mental illness.

Syed Ibad Farooq, a prominent member of PTI, caught by the police in connection with an incident on May 9. The news of Ammar’s untimely demise has triggered nationwide grief and demands for justice, with the hashtag #JusticeForAmmar trending on Twitter.

People across Pakistan have declared this day as a Black Day and are calling for justice from both the government and the judiciary. In a video plea, Ammar’s brother has appealed to the Army chief and the judiciary for the release of his father.

A popular freelance journalist Adil Raja tweeted that “UK High Commissioner JaneMarriottUK also requested to use her influence for the child’s father’s release”. He posted screenshots of the chat which shows Jane Marriott’s support to get Syed Ibad Faroorq released.

The 9th of May was a horrible incident in the history of Pakistan. There was a great disruption and riots in the country on the 9th of May, 2023. After the incident of 9th May, the government and army of Pakistan took a great crackdown on the PTI members. Syed Ibad Farooq was also among the arrests by police for the incident of 9th May.

Ammar had been in a bad condition since May 2023 and sadly breathed his last at Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore.
