Sarfraz Bugti says Imran Khan getting unimaginable facilities in jail
Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti says PTI chairman Imran Khan is getting unimaginable facilities in jail. He said the common Pakistani cannot imagine the facilities Imran Khan is enjoying in prison.
Sarfraz criticized Imran Khan calling him a “ladla” of the courts who enjoys “unimaginable” prison privileges. He passed his critical comments while giving an exclusive interview to Independent Urdu.
While giving an interview to Independent Urdu, he stated in comparison to a typical prisoner or any previous prime minister imprisonment, the facilities Imran Khan enjoys in jail are exceptional. He added the facilities the former prime minister is receiving in prison are unimaginable to the average citizen of Pakistan.
Sarfraz recalled the appearance of Imran Khan in the Supreme Court following his arrest on May 9, 2023. He said Khan was ordered to be transferred in a Mercedes to the Police Lines in Islamabad.
The Minister endorsed his point of view by quoting the statement of former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Umar Ata Bandial to Khan. When Justice Umar said to Imran “Nice, good to see you” upon his arrival in the Supreme Court.
In light of his argument, Mr. Sarfraz emphasized that there is a critical need for judicial changes in Pakistan since there are issues with the judiciary.
The former prime minister Imran Khan was ousted in a no-confidence vote on April 10, 2022, last year. The Special court charged him in the cipher case under the Official Secrets Act 1923. He is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
