Quetta bomb blast injured several people including children
A locally produced bomb device blast occurred near the Civil Secretariat and Commissioner Office in Zarghoon Road, Quetta. There are at least nine people injured as a result of the Quetta bomb blast. It includes a traffic police officer and four children, police and government officials.
According to the senior superintendent of operations, the explosion occurred in a rubbish dump under a bridge on Zarghoon Road. He said that additional inquiries into the blast are underway. The SSP also stated that the four children injured in the incident were ragpickers.
In a post on X, Commissioner Quetta Division Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat advised locals to avoid the Zarghoon Road for the next few hours.

Meanwhile, the military’s top leadership expressed concern at the recent Corps Commander Conference about the sanctuaries and freedom of action available to terrorists of the illegal Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and other groups of that kind in a neighboring country. Earlier, a bomb exploded in Balochistan’s Machh area, killing one child and injuring another. The explosion occurred near the Machh police station.
Hence, the bomb blast caused a wave of panic and confusion throughout Machh bazaar. Shopkeepers reacted by shutting their doors to protect themselves and their businesses from any potential consequences.
Balochistan has been plagued by militancy for decades. However, security forces managed to restore a feeling of normalcy to the region in recent years. Although the military conducted 15,063 intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, killing 109 militants in 2023.
