Punjab CM decides to launch iPad scheme
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif decides to launch the iPad scheme across the province through PEEF. She also decided to examine higher education scholarships during high-level meetings with provincial ministers and education authorities.
During the meeting, Maryam expressed disappointment with the incomplete briefing and requested a clear plan for the PEEF (Punjab Educational Endowment Fund) scholarship scheme.
CM Maryam has ordered a student survey for iPad and laptop initiatives. She committed to enhancing higher education and other institutions based on modern standards. Punjab CM decides to launch an iPad scheme to facilitate students of Punjab fulfilling their technological needs.
Former Senator Pervez Rasheed, and Provincial Assembly members Maryam Aurangzeb, Rana Sikandar Hayat, and Nosheen Adnan attended this meeting. Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary, Chairman of P&D, Secretary of Finance, Secretary of Higher Education, Chairman of PITB, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
Eligibility for iPad and Laptop Scheme
- This scheme aims to help deserving students in Punjab with academic achievement and financial need.
- The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) will provide through recommendations for specific eligibilty criteria that may vary.

The Punjab Government will put measures in place to gurantee that the iPad and Laptio distribution process is fair and transparent. Priority may be given to students from underprivileged fmilies or distant places to ensure equal access to technology.
Punjab government has also launched “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” project for low-inocme unhoused people just three days before. They intend to build 100,000 homes under this project across the distrcits of Punjab province.
The government will build 3,000 homes in each district of Punjab for underprivileged people. The pople with montly income of 50,000/- or less than it will be eligible for this program.
