PTI MNA Mumtaz Mustafa died in Islamabad
A member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Mumtaz Mustafa died today in Islamabad. The National Assembly (NA) Secretariat confirmed the news of his death.
The deceased MNA Mumtaz hailed from Rahim Yar Khan in the southern district of Punjab. He won the election from the constituency NA-171 seat and passed away at the Parliament Lodges where he was residing these days.
His party PTI expressed condolences on the death of Mumtaz Mustafa on Twitter X. The party prayed for his high rank in Heaven (Jannat al-Firdous) and the patience of his family.
Mumtaz was a loyalist politician and enthusiastic supporter of PTI founder Imran Khan. He stood firm with him in the toughest times when the majority of fair-weather friendly politicians left the party due to alleged army interference since his ouster in April 2022.
The deceased remarked he had won by more than 60 thousand votes of people after the 2024 general elections. But Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is forcing him to leave PTI and join IPP. He categorically refused to leave Imran Khan.
The lower house of parliament conducted a session to express condolences on Mumtaz’s passing and adjourned without further action in his honor.
Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq declared that there would be no tapping on desks for the visiting politicians who had come to attend the house session.
However, Kahwaja Izhaar ul Haq, a politician for Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) claimed that the ambulance could not get to Mumtaz’s lodge to transfer him to hospital. Because there were cars of other parliamentarian members parked in the way. However, PTI MNA Mumtaz Mustafa had a heart attack.
Meanwhile, Secretary General PTI Omar Ayub Khan expressed his sympathy that MNA Mumtaz Mustafa died. He also recalled his gentle nature. He said Mumtaz Mustafa will always be remembered.
On the other hand, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar called Mumtaz a “well-renowned lawyer” and a “wonderful person.” According to Azam, Mumtaz had exceptional skills. He also prayed for the family of Mumtaz and the eternal peace of the departed soul.
