Prisoner gang raped by fellow prisoners in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi

Two prisoners allegedly gang raped their fellow male prisoner named Rehan Khan in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi. In another case of sexual abuse, two prisoners of Adiala Jail have accusations of gang-raping Rehan on the night of May 18, 2024.

This bizarre incident came to the public when victim Rehan filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Saddar Bairooni Police Station against rapers. Rehan is a resident of Peshawar who described his trauma in his complaint file.

He mentioned in his complaint that police officers from Shalimar Police Station in Islamabad took him into custody in connection with a case and transferred him to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi on Jan 25, 2024.

Prisoner Rehan stated that two fellow prisoners named Zakirullah and Sahil gang raped him at the barrack around 11 p.m. Afterward, he informed his sexual assault the deputy superintendent of Jail, who advised him to bring this matter to the notice of the Jail Superintendent the next day.

However, jail authorities had to present himself in Islamabad court. So, he could not meet the Jail Superintendent. The court found him not guilty and ordered his release.

Following his release, he reported the alleged rappers to the Rawalpindi Police Station by filing a complaint. The police have registered a case against the accused based on Rehan’s statements. Moreover, the police officers claimed they were investigating this incident and gathering evidence.

In a separate incident, four prisoners sexually assaulted an under-trial prisoner. Later, they strangled the victim to death in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. This tragic incident happened on the night of Jan 1, 2024.

Adiala Superintendent Asad Javaid Warraich filed a complaint against four under-trial prisoners for charges of murder and rape. Asad revealed they found victim Sabeel Karamat unconscious and dead on the morning of Jan 2, 2024.

His death seemed suspicious. Hence, he sent his dead body for medical examination to a jail doctor who revealed his sexual exploitation before being murdered. This incident led to the suspension of seven jail staffers for three months for their negligence.
