PESCO sued PTI MNA Zulfiqar Khan for forcibly restoring power supply
The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) sued PTI MNA Zulfiqar Khan for forcibly restoring the power supply. This legal action from PESCO came after Zulfiqar forcibly restored the power supply to 17 feeders in Nowshera.
MNA Zulfiqar accompanied by several PTI workers attacked the grid stations at Pabbi and Taru Jaba and forcibly restored the electrical supply. Hence, PESCO has responded by sending a letter describing the MNA Zulfiqar being sued for this act.
However, this is not the only incident. There are reports of several incidents of forcible electric supply restoration in Mardan, Charsadda, Tank, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), and Peshawar. All this has been happening due to massive load-shedding in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa.
PESCO sued PTI MNA Zulfiqar Khan after following a trend of forcibly entering power grid stations and restoring power by MPs in KP. Hence, the load-shedding dispute in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deepened with MPs breaking into power-controlling facilities.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur personally invaded a grid station on June 19, 2024. He forcibly restored power in some areas of Dera Ismail Khan and announced his power outage plan. He set a 12-hour load-shedding duration.

CM Gandapur stated load-shedding won’t go longer than 12 hours in any place. Assembly members had to visit grid stations in their respective regions to ensure the follow-up of the load-shedding schedule.
Before CM Gandapur, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Fazal Elahi is a PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) member. He forced his way into Rehman Baba grid station in Peshawar on June 18, 2024. He restored power to his area after protests broke out over load shedding.
Furious citizens of KP also restored power by breaking into Hazar Khawani grid station in May 2024. The massive load-shedding has sparked widespread protests throughout the sweltering weather.
