Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan to take fourth shot at power
The three-time former premier Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan to take a fourth shot at power after his four-year self-imposed exile in London.
PML-N leader made his landing at Islamabad International Airport at about 3:00 p.m. He spent the past few days in Dubai and left on a chartered flight along with some journalists.

Nawaz made a political comeback before the general election in Jan 2024 with his landing at Islamabad airport. He signed a petition to revive appeals against convictions in Avenfield and Al Aziziya cases.
PML-N leaders and journalists accompanied Nawaz Sharif on his journey to Islamabad, Pakistan. The delegation included prominent figures such as Mian Nasir Janjua, Irfan-ul-Haq Siddiqui, and the UK-based PML-N representative, Zubair Gul. Additionally, Pervez from the Netherlands and PML-N chief Zahoor-ul-Haq from France were also part of the group.
Nawaz told media reporters that we are completely ready for the elections. He added our country which should have been at heights of prosperity has really gone backwards. He questioned, how did we get here? Why did it come to this?
According to sources, taking the same flight, Nawaz had to land at Allama Iqbal Airport to attend a homecoming rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore.
PML-N President and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif reached Lahore airport to receive his brother.
Vice president and daughter of Nawaz Sharif left for Minar-e-Pakistan to welcome his father. On her way to the rally place, roads flooded with PML-N supporters.
Former PM arrives at Lahore
Nawaz has arrived in Lahore to address the Minar-e-Pakistan rally. The rally venue has been adorned with dazzling electric lighting. Several supporters have gathered there to get a glimpse of their leader.
Nawaz Sharif reached the historic Shahi Fort by helicopter after landing at Lahore from Islamabad. He will proceed from Shahi Fort to Minare-Pakistan by car. This spectacular fireworks display lasting over 10 minutes will accompany his arrival at the rally venue. He will make a speech there after being in self-imposed exile for four years in London.
