LHC Chief Justice vowed to end establishment’s interference in court
Chief Justice (CJ) of Lahore High Court (LHC) Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan vowed to end the establishment’s interference in the judiciary. He believes that the blatant interference of the Pakistani establishment in judicial affairs will soon come to an end.
CJ Malik Shehzad claimed it while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of e-courts at the judicial complex in Rawalpindi. He urged they must fight the establishment’s interference in the judiciary with faith, courage, and bravery. It will ultimately end.
He stated that there is a problem with the establishment meddling in matters relating to the judiciary. They receive letters from them to interfere in judicial affairs. He emphasized that these difficulties will end if there is fear of God.
Following this, LHC Chief Justice Malik Shehzad vowed to end the establishment’s interference in courts with faith. He guaranteed his experience tells him that the challenges to the judiciary at the hands of the establishment right now will come to an end.
Moreover, he expressed his pleasure and contentment that the judiciary was fulfilling its responsibilities without fear or greed. However, these remarks of Justice came after six judges of Islamabad High Court (IHC) wrote letters to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

In their letters, IHC judges accused spy agencies of Pakistan of interference in legal matters of court. Following this, the judges of the International Humanitarian Court also ordered the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Qazi Faez Isa, to call a judicial convention.
It urged CJP Qazi to address the alleged interference issue by intelligence agents in judicial functions. It also emphasized taking notice of the intimidation of judges in a way that compromised the independence of the judiciary.
The judges of Islamabad High Court and Lahore High Court have also received threatening letters in April 2024. These letters had an unknown source. However, relevant judges alleged spy agents sent them these letters to get their desired results in particular cases.
