KP to launch interest-free loan scheme to control unemployment
KP advisor Syed Fakhar Jehan revealed the launch of an interest-free loan scheme. Syed Fakhar is an advisor to the KP chief minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, on youth affairs and sports.
He said the government is launching the “Ehaas Nawjawan Rozgar Scheme” to help young people in the province start their enterprises and become entrepreneurs.
Syed Farhan said young people in the province could start their businesses in any industry with an interest-free loan scheme under the Ehaas Nawjawan Rozgar Scheme. He also explained that the KP youth would receive interest-free loans ranging from one million to ten million dollars in groups.
He revealed it while presiding over a meeting yesterday on May 29, 2024, about the province government’s scheme for Peshawar’s youth welfare. Several authorities, including Asad Kakakhel, Dr. Noman Mujahid, and Matiullah attended this meeting.
Asad Kakakhel is Khyber Bank’s director of microfinance, and Dr. Noman is the director of youth affairs. Matiullah is the secretary of sports and youth affairs.
However, the Bank of Khyber (BoK) will manage the loans. Earlier, KP advisor Syed Farhan had received a thorough briefing on this scheme.

It is significant to note that this scheme will cost five billion rupees in total. However, the government will provide a five percent special quota to minorities, special persons, and young people studying in madaris under the policy.
Earlier, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced the launch of this interest-free loan scheme on May 10, 2024, as part of his efforts against unemployment and poverty. He pledged to launch the Ehsaas Nawjawan Rozgar loan scheme to make KP youth self-sufficient.
However, he warned that they would arrest any person involved in misusing this loan fund. He revealed it while addressing at a press conference in Dera Ismail Khan.
