Imran Riaz Khan gets lifetime membership by Lahore Bar
Famous Pakistani journalist Imran Riaz Khan gets lifetime membership by the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) for recognition of his bravery. Imran Riaz Khan becomes the first-ever member of the media community who gets a lifetime membership from LBA.
LBA awarded the membership of a lawyers’ association to Imran Riaz for being a staunch advocate of human rights. He raised his voice for human rights without having fear for his life.
Vocal Journalist Imran Riaz expressed gratitude to the Lahore Bar Association for making him an honorary member of Asia’s largest Bar Association.
Imran Riaz Khan has been awarded the Best Journalist award on the very same day. Chairman Human Rights Council of Pakistan (HRCP) Mr. Jamshed Hussain honored him with this award.
The HRCP also nominated senior journalist Imran Riaz Khan for the award of the best journalist of the year 2023. It said Journalist Imran Riaz Khan has faced enormous difficulties in journalism. HRC Pakistan hopes that freedom of expression will be protected in Pakistan.
Imran Riaz thanked the Human Rights Council of Pakistan for an award but said more human rights are needed than the award of human rights.
Imran Riaz Khan’s speech at Lahore Bar Speech
Imran Riaz Khan gave his maiden speech after an abduction. He said while giving a speech at the Lahore Bar Association said you can forcefully silence people, but you can never change their thoughts.
Imran went on to say that individuals sitting in offices do not make decisions rather people make their own. He further said that if I am not there, someone else will speak. People cannot be silent because of cruelty.

Imran said to change the constitution, change the law, but don’t overdo it. It cannot change the thinking of people. People can become silent due to brutality and violence. Tongues can remain silent for some time but thoughts cannot change.
Moreover, he said hate only comes out of hate, not love. Fire cannot extinguish fire spreads. I said yesterday and the same I say today the people of my country will decide about Pakistan. A few people sitting in closed rooms cannot compete with the collective wisdom of the 22 crore people of Pakistan.
It is important to note that Imran Riaz Khan has gone missing for more than four months. He returned home on September 25, 2023. Pakistani authorities failed to investigate who abducted him.
