Husband allegedly attacked Balochistan female constable with acid
Officials reported that the husband of a Balochistan female constable attacked her allegedly with acid in the Saeedabad area of Karachi. South Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Syed Asad Raza said the suspect escaped the scene after throwing acid at his wife.
DIG Syed Asad revealed that the victim woman was a constable with the Balochistan police. The couple also hailed from the province of Balochistan.
He said the victim woman was shifted to Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital. She is receiving medical treatment at the Burn Center of Karachi after an acid attack.
According to police surgeon Summaiya Syed, the woman sustained burns to her face, chest, and other parts of the body. Syed Asad stated they could not take a statement from the victim woman about the tragic incident as she was in critical condition. Hence, she was not able to record her statement as she sustained 33 percent burns on her body.
DIG claimed that the deputy superintendent of police and other police officers for Saeedabaad visited the crime scene. They took a statement from a security guard, an eyewitness to this incident.
The security guard witnessed to the police investigator officers that the suspected man threw acid on the victim woman. Afterward, he escaped the scene soon.
The suspected husband allegedly attacked his wife and female constable from Balochistan near Khurshid Pura cemetery in the vicinity of the Saeedabad police station.

According to DIG Syed Asad, they have also gotten reports that the culprit had escaped Quetta to save him from punishment. Hence, they are working to arrest him as soon as possible.
However, they have not revealed the identity of the victim or the culprit. It is also unclear why the suspect threw acid on the female constable. It will come to light once the victim woman records her statement and the police arrest her husband.
In a separate incident, another female constable and her brother fell victim to an acid attack. This tragic incident happened in Gulzar-e-Hijri, Karachi, two years ago. The victim was 22-year-old Gul Zara and her brother Rizwan.
