Bomb Blast in Mustang Balochistan on Eid Milad Ul Nabi 2023

In the morning Pakistan experienced a Bomb Blast in Mustang Balochistan on Eid Milad Ul Nabi 2023. The bomb was blasted at the public gathering for Eid Milad ul Nabi outside a mosque in Balochistan.

The bomb blast caused approximately 40 deaths and 60 plus injuries and many other people were hospitalized. As per the officials, Mastung’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori also died in the bomb blast.

As per the officials of Balochistan, “The bomb blast was not a normal blast but it was a suicidal bomb blast that happened near Al-Falah Mosque, where people were gathering to participate in the procession.”

Senator Sarfaraz Bugti tweeted and condemned the bomb blast in Mustang. He wrote “Attacking innocent people during the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession is a terrible act”

Provincial Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai said that people who are critically injured are transferred to the hospital and all the city hospitals are set to high alert. Furthermore, he added that the provincial chief minister has called an emergency meeting for the bomb blast in Mustang.

Pakistan experienced another explosion at a mosque near the premises of a police station in Hangu. A total of three blasts happened on the day of Eid Milad ul Nabi and until now, no group has taken responsibility for these blasts that happened in Balochistan.

History of Bomb Blast in Mustang

This marks the second bomb blast in Mastung, Balochistan, within the past 15 days, occurring on Eid Milad Ul Nabi 2023. It’s a significant incident that has unsettled Mastung once again. In the prior explosion on September 14, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah and several others sustained injuries.

Mastung has faced recurring terror attacks. One of the deadliest occurred in July 2018, injuring over 200 and killing at least 128 people, including Mir Siraj Khan Raisan, a candidate from the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
