Attock school van shooting: 2 Children died and 5 injured
Gunmen opened straight fire on a school van in Attock which resulted in the deaths of at least 2 children and five injured due to a fatal shooting. According to police, unknown shooters opened fire on a school van in the Attock area of Dheri Kot.
They identified the deceased children ranged in age from ten to twelve. The unknown gunmen escaped the crime scene after the shooting.
Rescue 1122 Punjab sent the crew to the crime scene as soon as this incident was reported. They took dead and injured victims to a District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has requested an urgent report from Commissioner Rawalpindi on this shooting incident.
She also expressed her deep sorrow over the tragic happening to children. She also instructed relevant authorities to give injured people access to the best medical services.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the Attock school van shooting incident. He said his heart is aching to know about the killing of young students at the hands of gunmen. He demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits responsible for this incident.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed grief at this incident.

Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa stated early investigations showed this incident happened due to personal enmity. The gunmen aimed to fire shots at the school van driver to kill him but it resulted in the killing and injuries of children.
Babar emphasized they have filed a case against suspects and conducting raids to arrest them. He vowed to arrest them soon.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar also took notice of this incident and asked for a report from Rawalpindi RPO. He also instructed Attock DPO to reach the crime scene and ensure the arrest of the culprits.
