6 more Adiala Jail employees arrested for facilitating Imran Khan
Law enforcement officials (LEAs) have arrested 6 more Adiala Jail employees for allegedly facilitating former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Their arrest came after the detention of the former deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail.
According to media reports, there were three female members of the jail staff network who were allegedly involved in helping Imran Khan. LEAs will investigate all six accused jail employees.
A sweeper, two female wardens, and three officials, who were on duty to watch the jail’s security cameras are among the accused employees.
LEAs have seized the cell phones of employees. The female staff allegedly conveyed messages between Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi inside prison.
They have appointed more security personnel to monitor the Adiala jail security, especially premises around Imran Khan. It is significant to note that LEAs arrested 6 more employees after taking the former deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail Muhammad Akram into custody on June 20, 2024. However, this news became public on August 14, 2024.
Following Akram’s alleged role in facilitating Imran Khan, he faced suspension from his deputy superintendent position. Afterward, Deputy Superintendent Judicial Tahir Siddiquie Shah assumed the role of Imran Khan’s security supervisor.
Punjab Home Department (Prison Section) dismissed Muhammad Akram through notification with instructions to vacate the position and report to the Prisons Department, Lahore.

LEAs had started interrogating senior officers of Central Jail Rawalpindi (Muhammad Akram) since his arrest. This investigation led to further detention of six more employees.
According to media sources, Akram would convey messages of Imran Khan secretly outside Adiala Jail. Imran Khan has been behind bars for more than a year after being charged in several cases.
An un-Islamic marriage with Bushra Bibi, Toshakhana case, and the cipher case are among some of his cases. On the other hand, Bushra Bibi is also serving imprisonment at Imran’s residence Banigala Mansion for several months.
