Producer Lingusamy filed a complaint against writer Kamal Haasan
Indian producer Lingusamy and Subash Chandra Bose have filed a complaint against writer Kamal Haasan. They have filed this complaint to the Producers Council about the financial loss for their production company, Thirrupathi Brothers.
According to the complaint, Ligusamy, Subash, and Kamal created the 2015 movie Uttama Villain. The movie left them in debt as Kamal broke the conditions of the agreement with them.
In a recent interview with Touring Talkies, Lingusamy stated that Kamal vowed to work on an INR 30 crore film with Thirrupathi Brothers after Uttama Villian failed at the box office. Instead, he worked with a different producer on the movie when they contacted them about making a successful Malayalam movie, Drishyam.
This dispute came after Kamal Hassan wrote the story of Uttama Villain. It is a comedy-drama that portrays the story of a struggling actor with a brain tumor. The actor forces his mentor, Margadarsi, to direct his last comedy film as a wish. The actor had a long dispute with Margadarsi for years.
Thirrupathi Brothers posted videos on YouTube and X where Lingusamy clarified that Kamal changed the script several times. That is why the movie Uttama Villian did not work well at the box office.

In the video, Lingusamy states Kamal first told him and Subash about a super commercial movie about someone like Velu Naicker’s character, which Kamal played in Mani Ratnam’s 1987 film Nayakan.
Lingusamy said Kamal saved his brother from goons in the film. But then, he changed the role of a brother. His habit of having many changes of heart is an issue. He has successfully done that before. It would have been different if he had entered as a director, but unfortunately, he entered as a producer.
Hence, producer Lingusamy and writer-producer Sobash have filed a complaint to the Production Council against Kamal Haasan for his contract violations, which left Thirrupathi Brothers in debt. However, the Production Council has not responded yet to the complaint.
