Famous British singer John Mayall died at 90

British singer John Mayall, a famous pioneer of British blues, died at 90 at his California home. He was some of the greatest rock performers of the 20th century such as Eric Clapton and members of Fleetwood Mac.

British Blues music emerged in the 1960s as a distinct genre. This music genre had combination of traditional American blues with elements of rock and roll (famous music band). American Blues was a Texas-based rock band. John made his music band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers.

An Instagram post on his official account confirmed the news of his death. According to the post, John died on July 22, 2024. It paid tribute to John by calling him one of the world’s greatest road warriors.

The post also stated John has finally found peace after health difficulties which caused him to abandon his legendary touring career. It called his fans the Mayall family and thanked them for their devotion to supporting John over the last six decades.

It also thanked members of the band who supported him through his career despite his health difficulties. John left behind his six children including Gaz, Jason, Red, Ben, Zak, and Samson. He had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He had two wives Pamela and Maggie.

However, famous British singer John Mayall died after his lengthy struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was also suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which affected his lungs.

John was born in 1993 in Macclesfield. He started looking through his father’s jazz and blues record collection and took the piano, guitar, and harmonica to make his original music.

He also served as a national service officer in Korea for three years. Afterward, he attended art school and pursued a career in graphic design. Meanwhile, he started music as a member of the band Blues Syndicate.

John moved to London in the 1960s to become a professional musician. He played with touring blues greats including Sonny Boy Williamson and T-Bone Walker. He also established his band and made his name in the music realm.
