BTS to take legal action against netizens for spreading fake rumors

BTS Agency, BigHit Music, has released a statement informing fans to take legal action against netizens for spreading fake rumors. BigHit considered it a violation of the group’s rights.

The agency stated organizational efforts against damaging and defaming the artists have risen in recent weeks. They claimed it on Weverse. Moreover, it stated malicious attempts to spread rumors and unfounded information or to defame, humiliate, and ridicule the artists. 

The agency wrote Hello, This is BigHit Music. They would like to provide an update on the legal actions to defend the rights of BTS members. They have seen that in the last few weeks, there has been a noticeable increase in the organizational attempts to defame and disregard the artists.

Moreover, it stated the company will react decisively by collaborating with another law firm to strengthen its current legal actions as it views these actions as grave violations of the artist’s rights. As they speak, they are using real-time monitoring to gather evidence of malicious comments. 

They will also continue to enforce a zero-tolerance policy and take legal action strictly without giving in or making concessions regarding BTS artists. Thank You!

This statement comes after a dispute with HYBE and ADOR. HYBE is an entertainment giant known for managing K-pop stars such as BTS and Seventeen. ADOR is its subsidiary label. 

It all began when HYBE allegedly discovered plans by ADOR to become independent, leading them to launch an audit of the ADOR management of the girls’ group NewJeans. Following this statement, ADOR released a statement claiming that the idea behind NewJeans had been taken in a misappropriate way. 

Kim Namjoon (RM), Kim Seok-jin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Taehyung), Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) are the members of BTS. Hence, they made their group debut in 2013. Recently, every BTS member has been a member of the South Korean military.
