The picture of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif has been challenged on Punjab Kisan Card in Lahore High Court. A Pakistani citizen, Mashkoor Hussain filed a petition and challenged the picture of Nawaz Sharif on a Kisan Card.

Mashkoor Hussain argued in his petition that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has permitted imprinting the picture of Nawaz Sharif on a Kisan Card. However, the Punjab government cannot utilize public funds for personal publicity.

The petition also argued that using the national treasury for personal publicity violates the verdict of the Supreme Court. Hence, petitioner Mashkoor sought the Lahore High Court to stop authorities from printing images of Nawaz Sharif until the final decision of his petition.

This petition came just after a day when the Punjab Chief Minister and daughter of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz approved the “Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card” Project. This aims to improve the agricultural industry of Punjab and the socioeconomic conditions of farmers.

CM Maryam Nawaz presided over a meeting on agricultural reforms yesterday to approve this project. She stated the Punjab government would grant loans to 500,000 small farmers on favorable terms.
