Carlos Alcaraz beat Alexander Zverev to reach Indian Wells semifinals
Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz beat German player Alexander Zverev to reach the semifinals of Indian Wells 2024. Indian Wells has another name too “BNP Paribas Open.”
Carlos Alcaraz beat Alexander Zverev by 6-3, 6-1 match series. However, Carlos faced a bee swarm (buzzing) while playing against Alexander during the semifinal match. Bee swarm created an almost two-hour delay for Carlos to defeat Alexander.
The match became more interesting when Carlos spotted slapping bees buzzing around him before going for cover. The match was suspended for 19 minutes after which Carlos made a tie at 1-1 tennis points.
Dozens of bees had struck themselves overhead spider cameras that traveled the court. A man with no protective cover used a vacuum to sweep the bees off the playing court.
However, after several hours of weird encounters with bees, the bee vacuumer was summoned to the court where he used a spray bottle to spray water over the benches and walls surrounding the court. This action resumed after a one-hour, 48-minute delay while the exact play time was 1:29.
The Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz is the second-ranked tennis player after Novak Djokovic in worldwide ranking. However, Alexander Zverev is the sixth-ranked tennis player.
