Today, the UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, along with 2 of Nasa’s and 1 Russian astronaut successfully returned to Earth onboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. Sultan Al Neyadi is the first Arab astronaut who went on a long-term space mission. Now he has returned back from space to Earth.

Their six-month journey was the longest in Arab history, lasting 186 days in space. Al Neyadi along with 6- crew astronauts, Stephen Bowen, Woody Hoburg, and Andrey Fedyaev stayed for six months at the International Space Station (ISS). SpaceX reports it. Among them, Bowen and Hoburg are NASA astronauts while Fedyaev is a Rocosmos cosmonaut.

At 8:17 a.m. (UAE time), the capsule came down in the Atlantic Ocean, not far from the shore of Jacksonville, Florida. The UAE’s President, Sheikh Mohemed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressed great pleasure in Al Neyadi and the team’s accomplishments in space exploration. After exiting the Dragon spacecraft, Sultan Al Neyadi welcomed well-wishers with a grin and thumbs up.

AlNeyadi is very proud to dedicate his six-month space expedition success to the UAE. He shared his emotions and sentiments on twitter.

The crew’s accomplishments include seven visiting spacecraft, performing three spacewalks, and covering 78.9 million miles in 2,976 Earth orbits. The successful return represents a watershed event in Arab space exploration.
