Khyber District Terror Attack: Police and soldiers killed
Several police and soldiers have been killed as a result of a terror attack in the Nala Joint Post and Tank Police Lines in the Khyber district of KPK. Terrorists used heavy weapons including hand grenades during the attack.
According to recent reports, at least four security personnel received martyrdom in two separate terrorist strikes in KPK. Terrorists targeted the Nala Joint Post in the Khyber district which killed at least two security personnel. Seven people are among the injured.
According to the administration of Hayatabad Medical Complex Hospital, they have transferred seven injured Frontier Constabulary personnel to the medical facility. Their condition is believed to be stable. The injured staff has been admitted to the neurological, surgical, and orthopedic wards of the hospital.
Police Line Tank KP Attack
A separate second Khyber District terror attack took place at Police Lines in KPK’s Tank area which resulted in the martyrdom of two security personnel. They are identified as Constable Gohar Zaman and Constable Ahsan Allah.
Three others are among the injured in a terrorist attack at Police Lines Tank KP. Terrorists targeted the police in the early hours of Friday. According to hospital authorities, they have shifted injured cops to hospital.
Police have killed one terrorist in retaliation. They have closed Dera Road for traffic as a search operation is continuing in this area.
The latest terrorist attacks came just days after six suicide bombs smashed an explosive-laden truck into a military base in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan on Dec 12, 2023. It killed at least 23 soldiers and injured more than sixteen.
Tehreek-e-Jihad-e-Pakistan (TJP) claimed responsibility for this attack on Pakistani security forces. However, Inter-Services Public Relations released a statement claiming the death of all six terrorists involved in the attack.
The current year is witnessing an alarming increase in terror-related attacks in Pakistan as a whole and in KPK particularly. There are reports of at least 470 deaths of security personnel and civilians due to terror attacks.
