After the rain stopped and with a revised target of 342 off 41 overs, Fakhar Zaman was on 126 and Captain Babar Azam was on 66 with their team on 200-1 in the 26th over when the rain returned. The rain ended the game and as per the DLS method, Pakistan was 21 runs ahead making them the winner of the match

With this result, Pakistan has equaled New Zealand on eight points but remains behind in net run rate. The Men in Green will now hope to defeat England while expecting Sri Lanka to defeat New Zealand in their next match.
New Zealand won their opening four games, but they have already lost four successive and are still fourth in the standings. With one game remaining, Pakistan has won four of their last eight, climbing to seventh in the standings.
South Africa is almost guaranteed to make the last four, and India has already secured one semifinal spot. Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are now competing for the remaining two spots.
