Russia accuses US destructive approach to Israel-Palestinian war

Russia accuses the US destructive approach to Israel-Palestinian war on Oct 9, 2023. It condemned the violence against both Israelis and Palestinians in the territories of Israel and Palestine. It also criticized the United States of America’s approach calling it a “destructive approach” for the reason that the US ignored the need for an independent Palestine state.

Israeli troops are battling the armed men of HAMAS more than two days after a massive HAMAS attack from Gaza. Reuters claims the Israeli army said it would go soon on the offensive after the biggest mobilization in Israeli history.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized the West saying it was shortsighted if it believed it could simply condemn attacks against Israel. And then hope for Israel’s victory without solving the cause of Instability- the Palestinian problem itself. Lavrov also called for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East.

Russia urges the need for a return to peace and also expresses its extreme concern over violence which can escalate into border conflict in the Middle East. It has relationships with Arab countries, Iran, HAMAS as well, and Israel. Russia said the West ignored the need for an Independent Palestine state within 1967 borders. 1967 border (a line that demarcated boundaries between Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt).

On June 5, 1967, Israel occupied the different territories of Palestine during the Six-Day War. This war was between Israel and a coalition of Arab armies. Israel occupied the Gaza Strip, West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Syrian Golan Heights, and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula.
