PTI leader Dr. Shahid Siddique shot dead outside mosque in Lahore

PTI local leader and well-known owner of the private Iqra Hospital, Dr. Shahid Siddique shot dead outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore. It is significant to note that he was a close friend of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Dr. Shahid Siddique was leaving the mosque after offering Friday prayer when his tragic assassination happened. He became a victim of target killing when an unidentified man shot him with four bullets as he exited the mosque.

Meanwhile, PTI senior leader Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari expressed sadness that their ally Dr. Shahid Siddique shot dead. He said Dr. Shahid died in cold blood after Friday prayers. His death left them in an extreme shock.

According to Zulfiqar, Dr. Shahid was a loving human who served their party and Imran Khan for decades. He called the deceased a “pure soul” who would have the highest rank in Heaven.

He also wrote they will miss him. Then, he expressed his condolences to the entire family of Shahid. He requested them to have patience and strength in this difficult time. He also consoled them by expressing his solidarity with them on behalf of the party.

Law enforcement officials of Lahore soon arrived at the crime scene in the aftermath of the assassination. They have taken the deceased body into their custody to start an investigation.

They are conducting a comprehensive investigation into it, including the potential of targeted killing to determine the motive behind this assassination.

Usman Anwar, the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab, has directed his subordinates to use all available resources to complete the investigation of this murder case quickly.

He also ordered them to take immediate action to arrest the suspects behind this incident. He asked DIG Operations to provide IG with a detailed report as the legal investigation proceeds.
