Jeff Bezos plans to settle billions of people in space

World billionaire Jeff Bezos plans to settle billions or possibly a trillion people on massive space stations across the solar system. According to Jeff, this is how humanity may prosper without depriving the planet Earth of its resources.

Jezz Bezos has high hopes when it comes to space travel. He revealed his plans and hopes during his interview with podcaster Lex Fridman. He said he would love to see a trillion humans living in the solar system.

Jeff imagines a human world beyond his lifetime to fulfill this idea where people live on massive space colonies around the solar system rather than on worlds like Mars.

Jeff Bezos informed Lex that the planetary surfaces are too small to accommodate everyone there. Hence, settling humans in the solar system will be a better option.

According to him, leaving Earth would allow humanity to advance and prosper without damaging its home planet Earth. Hence, Jeff Bezos plans to settle billions of people in space.

Jeff had visions of a space station housing humans that would look like cylindrical homes that late physicist Gerard K. O’Neill had suggested. They have several advantages compared to planetary surfaces.

Space scientists can spin these cylinders to achieve regular earth gravity. Hence, they can put them where they want them, regarding Gerard-style cylinders. However, Jeff admitted that more people would still choose to live close to Earth anyway.

Billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk is the chief rival of Jeff Bezos. They both have ambitions to settle humans in space. But they have disagreements on the space medium on which humans will colonize.

Elon hopes to settle humans on Mars (red planet) by 2050. However, Jeff intends to establish human colonies on the solar system rather than on planets.
