NASA’s OSIRIS-REx Returns Bring Asteroid Bennu Samples
NASA’s OSIRIS-REx Returns Bring Asteroid Bennu Samples Collected by United States from Space, on Sept.24, 2023. This seven-year-long journey came to an end at the Department of Defense’s Utah Test and Training Range near Salt Lake City at 8:30. They touched down the surface, collected the samples from asteroid Bennu’s surface, and delivered them to Earth at Defense’s Utah department.
After the first phase, where NASA’s OSIRIS-REx returns bring Asteroid Bennu samples to Earth. NASA will also have its second phase of the mission soon. The sample of the asteroid Bennu will be shown at @NasaJohnson Instagram page in Houston on Wednesday, Oct.11.
Scientists hoped to get more information about our planet and the solar system formed from the collected samples. The samples might also contain information on the origins of organics and water that may have led to life on Earth.
NASA shared pictures of this astonishing achievement on their Instagram pages that show a Capsule on the desert ground. Another one a woman in a blue jacket inspects the capsule. Some pictures also show a Capsule lifted by a helicopter. There is one more where men unhooked a capsule from a helicopter near the cleanroom.
With this remarkable achievement, NASA has brought humans one step closer to the reviling of cosmos secrets.
